A little bit about us

Kilmany Horticultural Services was established in 2002. What started as a modest base soon grew into something far more special.

The same hands-on dedication and love for transforming outdoor spaces continue to drive everything we do.

A little bit about me

Sharing my love of topiary

Topiary is something I do purely for the love of it. What started as a simple interest has grown into a real passion—shaping and guiding plants into forms that bring a bit of creativity and character into the garden. I enjoy the patience it takes, the attention to detail, and watching each piece evolve over time.

It’s not about perfection, but about the process—working with nature, learning as I go, and creating something a little different with every cut. My garden has become a space where I can experiment, unwind, and let that creativity take shape. - Roddy McIntosh

A little bit about our community work

Kilmany Horticultural Services has been proudly supporting local communities through a growing programme of community donations across Fife. In recent years, the company has installed unique, handcrafted outdoor seating in Ceres, Cupar, and Strathkinness, helping to enhance public spaces for residents and visitors alike.

In Ceres, our Cross Seat is located along the Pilgrim’s Way, in the car park beside the museum. In Cupar, our seating can be found on Orchard Walk, just off the Common. We have also created a unique prayer circle at St Columba’s RC Primary School, inspired by the fourteen Stations of the Cross. This space has been especially well received, becoming a meaningful and much-used feature for the children, who engage with it both reflectively and socially as part of their school life.

Our most recent construction is in Strathkinness, situated on the western edge of Bishop’s Wood, adjacent to the Covenanters’ grave site. Across all locations, the seats have been warmly embraced by members of the local community, offering places for rest, reflection, and connection, and quickly becoming valued features within their community.

These bespoke seating constructions not only improve the appearance of local villages but also provide practical, welcoming places to rest, socialise, and enjoy the surrounding environment.

This ongoing initiative to install distinctive seating in villages and towns reflects Kilmany Horticultural Services’ strong commitment to community engagement, sustainable landscaping, and the creation of attractive, functional outdoor spaces across Ceres, Cupar, Strathkinness, and the surrounding area.
